Our Companion Alpacas
Our companion alpacas have not met the rigorous standards of the Ballintotas Alpacas breeding program criteria, but possess gentle personalities and high yield fibre. They are perfect additions to your fibre program or for individuals interested in experiencing the joy of alpaca ownership without adding the expense of breeding stock to a farm plan.

This attractive, curious boy placed third at Alpaca Ontario Show 2004, but because of our decision to breed to only top ranking sires, we opted to geld him and breed off-site. Shogun produces an abundance of high quality fibre that has resulted in great yarns, woven scarves and throws. He is always first in line for treats and chin rubs!

This big boned leader is the “watchdog” of the herd, but a gentle giant at injection and toenail time. Shearing an annual average of 5-1/2 lbs of fibre, his two tone fleece need not be colour sorted to produce a beautiful shade of soft handled yarn.

Cyrus sports a calm and quiet disposition. His bright white fleece (shearing over 5-1/2 pounds each shearing) produces a striking yarn, and is soft with a sheen when woven into a finished product.

This alpaca has a sweet personality and is easily dominated by the more aggressive boys. He is the first to be noticed by visitors because of his dark “eyeliner” and soft topknot. He is great with new weanlings. Creemore’s fibre is extremely fine with a soft handle that produces end pieces with smooth, butter-soft qualities.
Creemore has been maintaining fantastic stats at 5 years of age -phenomenal fibre for hand spinners and knitters! |

This beautiful brown boy sports a small patch of sparse white on his left shoulder. A very gentle male, he stands still for routine medical care and is a relaxed participant at shearing time. Shearing 6 lbs (after skirting), his rich brown fleece is a sought after colour for spinners and knitters.

Dublin is a double registered male who descends from impressive genetics. His sire, Silver Cloud Armani was Grand Champion White Male, Alpaca Ontario, 2003. Armani posseses spectacular, dense fleece with high frequency crimp, bundling and lustre. Armani's fibre stats at age 2 were AFD 19.1. Armani took third for sire’s progeny at Alpaca Ontario, 2006, out of 10 entries. Dublin’s Grandsire Alpamayo is famous in western Canada for his award winning offspring, including the supreme champion at the 2002 and 2003 Futurity. Dublin’s bright white fleece continues to be outstanding and his are the first yarns, rovings and finished products to sell! Dublin’s sweet personality and nose to nose kisses made selling him a heart-wrenching thought, thus the decision to geld and keep him on the farm.
